We know there is no substitute for real equipment when it comes to training for a safety critical role.  That’s why you’ll benefit from the training and experience gained using an offshore pedestal crane that is uniquely representative of the offshore lifting environment being situated high above a dissused flooded quarry, located at Tyrebagger Quarry on the outskirts of Aberdeen.  Experience gained from using the pedestal crane is not restricted to crane operators as the other essential members of a lifting team, the banksman/slingers, are able to benefit from exercises in moving and handling loads at the hook end that replicate actual working conditions and controls offshore.

The crane simulator, also located at Tyrebagger, complements live crane operator training with simulated lifting scenarios designed to also include planned malfunctions, allowing assessment of the crane operator’s reaction to emergency situations.

For lifting operations conducted without the use of a crane, delegates have access to our two purpose built rigging frames, winch and portable lifting equipment drawn from the fully equipped rigging loft.
