Stahl Crane Systems

Stahl are market leaders in explosion proof hoist and crane technology and were the first manufacturer of overhead material flow technology to implement the ATEX100a directive 94/9 in the whole production range. All components, without exception, come from our own production range, from motors and brakes to controls and control pendants.

Rack & Pinion Drive overhead cranes and monorail hoists are designed to suit each individual application.

The positive drive allows safe travelling of the crane or hoist even when the ship is pitching and/or rolling. If the pitches are steep in heavy seas, the rack also acts as a ‘locking device’ in the parked position and the generously proportioned brakes hold the crane and hoist firmly in position.

Stahl Crane Systems include a variety of features specifically to protect the hoist/crane in the aggressive offshore environment. IP66 Enclosure Protection Covers over Motors, Brake cones hard chrome plated, Offshore paint systems and anti-condensation heaters are but a few features. Brass wheels and hooks also available on request.

Stahl Crane Systems Hoists are available for gas protection Zone 1 and Zone 2 and safely meet the technical, normative and practical requirements of ATEX.
Special hoists and cranes for on deck applications, e.g. loading provisions and spare parts, container handling and hose handling can also be supplied. For below deck applications we supply extremely compact cranes for engine rooms, stores cranes or monorail hoists.
Floating Production & Storage Offloading Vessels require a variety of overhead cranes, jib cranes, davits and monorail hoists. Stahl have supplied a number of system solutions for these vessels from turret house rack & pinion hoists to davit systems for the lowering and raising of fenders.

Engine room cranes are designed around tight dimensional restrictions to articulated rack & pinion electric / manual hoists for curved monorails. Our versatile hoist program allows solutions to even the most demanding application.
