Sparrows are uniquely placed as a service company rather than manufacturer when it comes to the specification and supply of spares. Not being tied to any particular brand allows Sparrows the freedom to specify the most appropriate spares: whether for holding as insurance spares for a new piece of lifting equipment; as consumables during normal operations or to re-engineer and replace obsolete components. Sparrows will always specify the most cost-effective solution that meets the required standard.

This position is further strengthened by the fact that Sparrows hold maintenance contracts for many clients around the world and have consequently built up a multi-million pounds holding of critical spares. These are typically items with long delivery times that would render the lifting equipment unusable if failure occurred, but which may only be required routinely once every ten years.

Furthermore, long years of experience have allowed Sparrows to align itself with key component and system vendors. Not only does this mean lower cost, but Sparrows gains preferential delivery times and is able to tap into the technical knowledge of the vendor.
