Robin H. Pinchbeck
Non-Executive Chairman

Robin was appointed non-executive Chairman of Sparrows in 2008. Robin’s background in the international oil and oil services sectors brings valuable additional experience to the leadership team.

Robin spent 23 years with BP in technical and general management roles in UK, Australia, USA and Middle East before moving to the service sector as managing director of Aberdeen-based Atlantic Power and Gas – a business which was ultimately purchased by Petrofac in 2002.

A graduate of Imperial College, London and Stanford University, California; Robin also continues to serve as a member of the senior management team at Petrofac, as Group Director of Strategy and Corporate Development and also as Non-Exective Director at SLR Consulting Ltd.

Doug Sedge
Chief Executive Officer
Aberdeen, Scotland

Doug began his career in the oil industry in 1975 and worked his way around the world and through the ranks gaining a wealth of experience in leadership and business development within the oil services contracting businesses.

During his 35 year career, Doug has held significant senior roles at Dresser Industries, Dolphin Drilling and Weatherford Inc. where he ultimately held the position of Vice President for Europe Africa and the Former Soviet Union. Following that he went on to take over the position of Chief Executive Officer of the RBG Group (2005-2008) and latterly European Vice President at Canadian-owned, oilfield services company, Tesco Corporation.

Doug joined Sparrows as CEO on November 1^st, 2009. His appointment brings new leadership to a group which has ambitious long-term growth plans.

Adrian Bannister BA, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Aberdeen, Scotland

Adrian qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Scotland and held a series of appointments in professional partnerships and in industry before joining Sparrows as Financial Director in 1995.

Responsible for procurement, financial planning and management, Adrian has had to reconfigure business systems across the group to accommodate rapid growth and multiple acquisitions over 15 years, while also steering the group through three changes of ownership.

Adrian also holds Board responsibility for the Middle East/Asia Pacific region, for Commercial Development and IT

Graham Thomson DipM
Chief Operating Officer
Houston, Texas

Graham trained as an offshore electrician and joined Sparrows in 1988 as Electrical Manager. He progressed through senior contract management and joined the board in 2001 as International Business Development Director.

He built business and established group operations in West Africa, South America, Australia and Indonesia before, in 2006, assuming the role of Chief Operating Officer, Middle East and Asia/Pacific, based in Abu Dhabi.

In 2009, Graham relocated to Houston to lead business growth in the Americas, including crane engineering, manufacture, service, rental and training.

Ben Alexander
Non-Executive Director

Ben Alexander is a Partner with CBPE Capital (“CBPE”) and along with Simon Wildig, has represented CBPE on Sparrows’ board since the completion of the MBO in March 2008.

Prior to CBPE Capital he worked at Deutsche Bank where he led a European structured finance team.  He has a degree in Mathematics from Cambridge University and a Masters in Finance from London Business School.

Simon Wildig
Non-Executive Director

Simon Wildig is a Partner with CBPE Capital (“CBPE”) and also has represented CBPE on Sparrows’ board since the completion of the MBO in March 2008.

He qualified as a chartered accountant whilst at Deloitte, after which he spent six years in corporate finance. He is a member of CBPE’s Investment Committee and has a degree in Accountancy and Finance from Kingston University.
